The purpose of this training course, taken in its entirety, is to provide asbestos workers with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify asbestos hazards, prevent, and control asbestos exposure. The course will discuss the hazards of asbestos, the nature of operations that could result in exposure to asbestos, and the importance of necessary protective controls, including work practices, engineering controls, and respiratory protection, to minimize exposure.
Asbestos Awareness Intro – UK ( 7 mins )
This introductory course will provide asbestos workers with an introduction to a three-part series of courses that is designed to raise your awareness of potential asbestos hazards and your associated responsibilities. This introduction presents the course structure and purpose, as well as clarification concerning licensable and non-licensable asbestos work and applicable enforcing authorities. This course is not intended to fully train workers or managers where work will disturb asbestos-containing materials; however, it is an ideal foundation for more specific training beyond asbestos awareness.

Asbestos Awareness Part 1 – UK ( 40 mins )
This is Part 1 of a three-part training course. You have to be able to recognize asbestos to protect yourself from it. Find out where asbestos is commonly found, operations that may result in asbestos exposure, potential health effects of asbestos exposure, and work practices you can use to prevent exposure.

Asbestos Awareness Part 2 – UK ( 38 mins )
This is Part 2 of a three-part training course designed to provide asbestos workers with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify asbestos hazards, the nature of operations that could result in exposure to asbestos, and the importance of necessary protective controls. Part 2 will outline the precautionary measures to take to reduce or eliminate asbestos exposure.
Explain the differences between licensed, non-licensed, and notifiable non-licensed asbestos work; Explain the role of the control limits in determining the type of asbestos work required; Define “reasonably practicable” in the context of asbestos control measures; Explain the function of designated areas, respirator zones and enclosures in asbestos operations; Identify recordkeeping requirements for asbestos projects; Identify requirements for personal protective equipment used in asbestos operations; Describe decontamination procedures for asbestos operations; Identify requirements for asbestos containing material (ACM) repair and removal; Describe appropriate wet methods in asbestos operations; Describe the benefits of Class H vacuums in asbestos operations; Identify proper asbestos cleanup and waste removal procedures; Identify first aid procedures for asbestos exposure; Identify applicable training content for employees liable to disturb asbestos during their normal work, and those who supervise them
Asbestos Awareness Part 3 – UK ( 26 mins )
This course consists of three parts. In this final part, Asbestos Respiratory Protection, you’ll learn about the requirements surrounding respiratory protective equipment (RPE) in the context of non-licensed and notifiable non-licensed asbestos projects.
Selecting appropriate RPE; Informing and training users on correct RPE usage; Ensuring fit testing, seal checks and pre-use examinations are properly conducted; Ensuring RPE is properly maintained, decontaminated, cleaned and stored
